The sporting highlight of the day is the Henkel Prize of Diana - a race steeped in tradition that has been held since 1857 and is now one of the most important mare races in Europe. Only three-year-old mares are allowed to compete here - for prize money of 500,000 euros. “The Henkel Race Day stands for galloping sport at the highest level and also enjoys an excellent international reputation,” says Dr. Alexander Bethke-Jaenicke, President of the Düsseldorf Riding and Racing Association.
